Testimonials

Joe Cosentino is a seasoned, dedicated martial artist who first approached me in March 2003 when he expressed his desire to 'legitimately' study the Arts of Filipino Kali, Maphilindo Silat and Muay Thai Kickboxing (as taught thru the Thai Boxing Association U.S.A.). He immediately impressed me with his insistence to be treated as 'just another student' ….this, despite his advanced Black Belt ranking and being a successful school owner...

Any questions regarding Mr. Cosentino's current status, authority to teach these arts, or his credibility may contact me at

My Son Tyler age 9, started out taking Tae Kwon Do as a Lil Dragon under Mrs. Anne Haberman. I wasn't sure in the beginning if Tyler would stick with it, being as we had not found an activity outside of school that interested Tyler. But Tyler loved doing Martial Arts and took pride in his sport. Tyler has ADHD, and per his pediatrician, Tae Kwon Do is great for children with ADHD. I am very proud of the concentration and dedication Tyler shows to his art, and also his schoolwork. I am glad that Tyler is taking Tae Kwon Do because being a single mother, I am not equipped to teach Tyler how to defend himself; but Mr. Joseph Cosentino and Mr. Justin Fallone have shown Tyler to do just that through his art. I can't thank KMA and all the instructors on the great job that they do with the children. KMA is just not a place for Tyler to go and learn Tae Kwon Do, to us it is a lifestyle and an extension of our family. Not only do I support my son in his Tae Kwon Do, I also am happy and supportive of all the students at KMA.

I am so grateful for what Mr.Cosentino, Mr. Fallone, and Mr. & Mrs. Haberman have done for my child. I see a difference in my son that is so unbelievable. Tyler is a shy person by nature and TKD is helping him to come out of that shell. A lot of people think that TKD is all about fighting, but it is not... it is about the Aims to Achieve. Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Self-control, Perseverance and Indomitable Spirit. I know in my heart that I made the right choice in Tae Kwon Do and KMA for my son. I hope that everything that Tyler learns through Tae Kwon Do, and the instructors at KMA, will carry with him as he matures into adulthood.

The proudest moment for me with Tyler in Tae Kwon Do was his last belt test. Usually Tyler tests with other children but this time he was the only one in his belt level testing. I was nervous once he started testing because I thought that Tyler would be so nervous and not do well. But to my surprise, Tyler was in control and did a great job on his test for Brown Belt.  Not once did he choke under the pressure. This is where the Aims to Achieve came into play and Tyler had all but mostly the Indomitable Spirit and Perseverance.

Once again thank you Komplete Martial Arts, Mr. Cosentino, Mr. Fallone and Mr. & Mrs. Haberman.

KMA has been such a positive thing for my 10 year old son, who has been taking a Taekwondo class with Mr. Cosentino.  My son Daniel lost his father back in February, and had lost all interest in sports totally.  He had gone into a depression due to his father's death.  He now is so positive and so disciplined since Taekwondo.  We could not find the right sport since age five, and now my son has found the sport that is changing his whole world around.  It has helped his weight problem, and athletically, has made a world of difference.  He no longer feels lost, and has a sense of belonging.

I just want to thank KMA, and Mr. & Mrs. Cosentino for turning my son's life back around.  It's been great to see him happy and physically active again.  It also has been an attitude adjustment for him.  He has gained a ton of respect and courage, and it has brought him out of his shell.  Thank you, KMA, for giving me my son back.

Practicing and studying martial arts has had a profound impact on my family. I never would have guessed that a sport my son chose to try because a friend asked him to would have led to a family wide interest in the pursuit. Zak has been involved in Tae Kwon Do for two years, and even when his friend quit over 1 year ago, Zak continued his study. His goal is to become a Tae kwon Do black belt and then study other forms of martial arts. So far he’s made great physical and social strides, so I that know that martial arts is a good activity for him. He has always been a very outgoing person, but not always confident. Now he has the confidence and discipline to work hard in all his endeavors. He has gained focus and listening skills, along with respect for others. He is definitely not perfect, but he has improved a great deal.

Perhaps it was the changes in Zak that prompted an interest on my daughter’s part. She begged me to let her enroll, but I fought her all the way. Krista has been playing soccer since she was 4 and that is her sport. After several months of begging, I gave in, thinking Tae Kwon Do might help her with soccer. Her efforts in Tae Kwon Do have reinforced the importance of discipline and listening skills as well as improving her physical strength and flexibility. You may not know that soccer is a very intense physical sport and requires speed, agility and skill. Training three times weekly in martial arts has helped her mentally and physically, revitalizing her indomitable spirit.

Because my children were taking Tae Kwon Do, my husband and I started to gain an appreciation for martial arts. We decided to try the Combat Hapkido Class. We wanted to share something with our children and with each other, and adding any form of exercise to our lifestyle could only be a benefit. My husband and I started together about 6 months ago, and we enjoyed it. Then Brian had to stop because of his work schedule. This was my opportunity to quit as well, but I loved what Hapkido was doing for me. I was a big couch potato, and never did any type of physical activity at all. Now I have the energy to go out and do whatever I want and feel good doing it. I am merely a novice martial artist, but I have learned how to defend myself and even better, I’ve made several friends along the way.

I don’t think anyone would question the physical benefits of studying martial arts. Certainly my family and I have begun reaping the benefits of our classes. But I believe the mental and emotional aspects of martial arts are equally important and often overlooked by laypeople. All of us approach our daily activities (work, school, other sports) with new vigor and determination. Furthermore, my family has grown closer to each other, we relate better to our long-term friends and family members, and we have welcomed other people into our lives. Martial arts have enriched our bodies, minds and souls, and unlike most other sports, we can and probably will devote a lifetime to our studies.
